Another interesting point about the Battle of Hattin was that it was Jewish Archers under Saladin who dealt the mortal blow to the then exhausted Templars and Knights of Jerusalem - who made the unfortunate mistake of running out of water while trying to extinguish a brush fire. The arrows were incandescent. Back in those days, Jews and Arabs were allies against the invading Franks. Hattin however was less decisive than the Battle of Ain Jalut, which took place 73 years later.
