I've encountered these arguments previously, and as someone who isn't particularly religious, I don't have a vested interest in this debate. Personally, I view religion as a significant cultural backdrop to our civilization, enriching our collective identity. At face value, the Gaza/Israel conflict appears religiously driven, akin to the historical Protestant/Catholic tensions in Ireland. However, beneath the surface lies a deeper struggle for team loyalties, resources, and associated privileges. The underlying fear of being dominated by the opposing side also plays a significant role. Similarly, Global Warming presents a complex challenge. While we recognize it as a pressing issue, our modern civilization heavily relies on fossil fuels for energy, creating a reluctance to relinquish our privileges to address the problem collectively.Blaming religion exclusively oversimplifies the situation.
