Once again, you wrote a very good article about a highly divisive subject. My own historical opinion about the Israel/Palestinian conflict is that it is more of a predicament than something with an easy solution. Ultimately, I see this playing out much like the Protestant/Catholic conflict during the 30 years war in the 17th century, which ultimately resulted in the treaty of Westphalia - a lukewarm two-state solution pill that all the parties had to swallow after a 50% decline in population resulting from a brutal war. A similar conflict played itself out in Ireland in the 19th and 20th centuries.
In hindsight, it is hard to imagine today why Catholics and Protestants hated each other to such a degree. The same could be said for Jews and Palestinians; they share the same Canaanite blood, like much of the same foods, are both Semitic, have related monotheistic religions, and often look the same.
