Well written article. Let me reiterate - no one alive today (or group of people) is responsible for the terrible injustices from three centuries ago. The root cause of African slavery, more than anything, is perhaps the cane sugar industry, and the immense appetite for sweet things in Europe that created the market fundamentals for it. This was a ruthless yet very profitable industry, with the an average lifespan of an enslaved individual of about 5-6 years.
